Alice Sara Ott is the first artist to be sponsored by the "Centrum Bank Foundation". The German-Japanese pianist, who was born in 1988, plays the most virtuoso piano pieces with great precision and passion.
She is one of the greatest talents of her generation, an extraordinary combination of maturity, expressiveness, virtuosity and musical power. She delights her audiences with the richness and clarity of her playing, reflecting a mature, emotional and passionate musicality as well as amazing charisma.
She has already performed in the great concert halls of Europe and Asia, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Suntori Hall in Tokyo. She has performed with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine, the Zurich Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of David Zinman or the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker under Norichika Iimori. Further she was on tour with the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra and Alexander Dimitriev.
In May 2008, Alice Sara Ott signed a five-year exclusive CD contract with "Deutsche Grammophon, the worlds most influential classical music label. No other German-speaking pianist has achieved such recognition in more than 20 years. Deutsche Grammophon is the prestigious classical music label of Universal Music Group, the international CD market leader. It has given classical music a completely new image – especially with young people – and achieved exceptional success thanks to artists such as Anna Netrebko, Rolando Villazon and Lang Lang.
Her first CD under the Deutsche Grammophon label was released in November 2008. On this CD, Alice Sara Ott plays Franz Liszt. She performs Liszt's "Transcendental Etudes" with immense power and poetry – full of musical intensity.
In February 2009, this exceptionally talented pianist played at the Munich Philharmonic with the St. Petersburg Symphonic Orchestra under the baton of Alexander Dmitriyev. Following these appearances, she performed twice at the Salzburg Festspielhaus. Alice Sara Ott also performed at the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, the Philharmonie in Berlin, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, as well as at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. The pianist has also played in further concerts in the United States during the 2009/2010 season, which include amongst others with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra under Paavo Järvi and with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado.
"Echo Classic" Winner 2010
At the end of 2009, her second CD was released. In honour of the 200th birthday of Frédéric Chopin, Alice Sara Ott performs all the waltzes of the Polish pianist and composer. In July 2010 Alice Sara Ott got the renowned Music Prize "Echo Classic", awarded by the German Phono-Academy for "Best Rising Artist of the Year".
